Transtheoretical Model
Definition
A stage‑based theory of behavioural change that describes an individual's readiness to change through sequential stages—commonly precontemplation (no intention), contemplation (considering), preparation (planning), action (active modification), and maintenance (sustained change)—and identifies processes of change, decisional balance and self‑efficacy as mechanisms that vary across stages.
