Micelle

An aggregate of amphiphilic molecules in an aqueous environment in which hydrophobic tails are sequestered toward an interior region and polar head groups face the solvent; micelle formation typically occurs above a critical micelle concentration and enables solubilization and transport of hydrophobic molecules without creating a separate macroscopic liquid phase.
