Huygens–Steiner Theorem

For a rigid body of total mass m, the moment of inertia I about any axis parallel to a given centroidal axis equals the moment of inertia about the parallel axis through the centroid (I_centroid) plus m times the square of the distance d between the axes: I = I_centroid + m d^2.
