Ultrafiltration (UF)

A pressure-driven membrane separation process in which a semi-permeable membrane retains macromolecules, colloids and suspended particles while allowing water and smaller solutes to pass, used to concentrate, fractionate, or clarify food streams (for example, concentrating proteins or removing suspended solids).
