Heuristic Evaluation

An expert‑based inspection method in usability and interaction design in which evaluators systematically apply a set of recognized usability heuristics to an interface or prototype to identify, classify and prioritize likely usability problems without direct end‑user testing.

An expert review method in which one or more usability specialists inspect an interface, workflow, or service against a set of established usability heuristics or principles to identify potential usability problems and estimate their severity without employing representative end users.
