Edge Singularity

A singular behavior concentrated along an edge or codimension-one manifold in a domain where solutions or geometric quantities exhibit reduced regularity compared with the interior; near the edge the solution may have explicit leading singular terms with non-integer power laws or logarithmic factors.

A localized breakdown of regularity of solutions to partial differential equations that is concentrated along an edge (a one-dimensional boundary locus) where standard elliptic or parabolic estimates fail and solution asymptotics develop non-smooth angular dependence.
