Torsion (of a Space Curve)

A scalar function along a sufficiently smooth space curve measuring the rate at which the curve's osculating plane rotates about the tangent, typically denoted τ; together with curvature it forms the Frenet–Serret invariants determining the curve up to rigid motion.
