Definition
For a Hermitian (or symmetric) matrix A and nonzero vector x, the Rayleigh quotient R(x) is (x* A x)/(x* x), a scalar giving the quadratic form value per unit squared norm of x; for complex vectors x* denotes conjugate transpose.
