Alternative Dispute Resolution

A family of non‑judicial procedures by which disputing parties seek to resolve a legal or commercial disagreement outside a court, principally including mediation, arbitration, and negotiated settlement processes; ADR methods vary by degree of party control, formality, confidentiality, enforceability, and appealability, and are distinguished from litigation by their private procedures and the subs
