Ein soziolinguistisches Modell, das beschreibt, wie Gesprächspartner ihre Sprache, Wortwahl, paralinguistische Merkmale und ihr weiteres Kommunikationsverhalten anpassen, um mit Kommunikationspartnern zu konvergieren oder zu divergieren; Anpassungen spiegeln soziale Motive (Solidarität, Distanz, Identität, Status) wider und können automatisch, strategisch oder beides sein.
