An outdoor high‑voltage installation of switches, busbars, circuit breakers, isolators and related insulators and earthing facilities arranged to connect, route, isolate and protect transmission lines, transformers and other high‑voltage equipment; a switchyard provides the physical switching plane and clearances required for safe high‑voltage reconfiguration and fault isolation.
