Role Strain

Stress or difficulty experienced when the demands, expectations, or responsibilities associated with one or more assigned educational roles exceed an individual’s available time, skills, resources, or capacity to perform them effectively.

Individual psychological and social stress experienced when the expectations, duties, or behaviors associated with a religious role are incompatible, excessive, or insufficiently specified, producing difficulty in fulfilling the role without adverse effects on performance, identity, or wellbeing.
