No-Till Farming
Definition
An agriculture and forestry concept defining practices, measurements, or management tools used in land-based production and stewardship. It applies when operational prerequisites are satisfied and produces defined effects on productivity, sustainability, or resource condition. It does not replace monitoring and adaptive management and cannot ensure outcomes without proper implementation.
No-Till Farming
Definition
A conservation-oriented planting method in which seeds are placed into undisturbed soil and crop residues are retained on the surface rather than mechanically inverting or extensively disturbing the soil between seasons; practiced to preserve soil structure, reduce erosion and runoff, and maintain surface organic matter while requiring adapted seeding equipment and residue management.
