Network Reconfiguration

An operational technique that changes the open/closed status of switches and the connectivity (topology) of an electrical distribution feeder or set of feeders to alter power flows with the objective of reducing network losses, balancing phase and feeder loads, or restoring service after a fault while satisfying thermal, voltage and protection constraints.
