Mortality Rate

A population‑level frequency measure expressing the number of deaths occurring in a specified population during a defined time interval, typically reported as deaths per unit population (for example per 1,000 people) per year; as a ‘crude’ rate it does not control for differences in the population’s age or sex composition.
