Moral Luck

A philosophical thesis that factors beyond an agent's control—such as outcomes, circumstances, or causal background conditions—can legitimately influence moral judgments and attributions of moral responsibility, praise or blame, thereby challenging views that moral responsibility should track only what is under the agent's direct control.
