Mitosis

A eukaryotic cell-cycle process that segregates duplicated chromosomes into two genetically equivalent daughter nuclei through an ordered sequence of stages—prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase—driven by spindle microtubule dynamics, kinetochore attachments and regulated cohesion removal.
