A Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is software that monitors, schedules, and records real‑time shop‑floor activities—work orders, resource allocation, machine status, process parameters and product genealogy—to coordinate execution of production plans, enforce operational rules, and provide traceable records of manufacturing events.
