Mandible

The mandible is the single, U‑shaped bone forming the lower jaw in adult humans; it supports the lower dentition, provides attachment sites for masticatory and adjacent muscles, articulates with the temporal bones at the temporomandibular joints, and transmits neurovascular structures relevant to sensation and blood supply of the lower face.
