Liposome

A spherical vesicle composed of one or more concentric phospholipid bilayers that encloses an aqueous interior and separates it from the continuous external medium; bilayer architecture permits encapsulation of hydrophilic solutes within the core and partitioning of lipophilic solutes into the membrane.
