Practice of pouring out a liquid (such as water, oil, wine, milk, or other fluids) as an offering to deities, spirits, ancestors, or sacred places as part of a ceremonial exchange; the poured substance and formulaic actions identify the act as a ritual gift rather than incidental spillage.
