Kolcaba's Comfort Theory

A mid‑range nursing theory that defines comfort as a multidimensional, patient‑reported outcome and therapeutic goal, distinguishable across four domains—physical, psychospiritual, environmental and sociocultural—and proposes that nursing assessment and targeted interventions to enhance comfort improve patients' capacity to engage in health‑seeking behaviours and coping.
