Kinetic–Thermodynamic Control

The situation in which the distribution of products from a reaction system is determined either by relative rates of formation (kinetic control) or by relative stabilities of products at equilibrium (thermodynamic control), depending on conditions such as temperature, reaction time, and reversibility.
