Information Cascade

A process model in which individuals sequentially adopt beliefs, decisions or actions by observing the choices or signals of predecessors rather than relying solely on their private information; in media ecosystems this can produce rapid amplification of claims when later actors infer credibility from earlier adoption instead of independent verification.
