Methodological practices that employ visual materials, methods, and outputs as primary means of inquiry and knowledge generation; this includes the systematic collection, classification, analysis and/or production of images, moving images, diagrams or other visual artifacts, together with explicit methods for annotation, provenance assessment, and interpretation.
