Value-Added Measure
Definition
A quantitative indicator, derived from a statistical model, that estimates the contribution of an educational agent (teacher, school, or program) to students' measured academic progress after statistically accounting for prior achievement and specified background characteristics; it is an estimated model parameter or residual, not a direct observation of causal effect.
