A middle‑range nursing theory that defines caring as five interrelated processes—knowing (understanding the patient’s experience), being with (emotional presence), doing for (performing interventions for the patient), enabling (facilitating the patient’s passage through events), and maintaining belief (sustaining faith in the patient’s capacity).
