Suture-Related Infection

A localized infection that originates at, is propagated along, or is maintained by suture material or the suture line after surgical closure, where the suture acts as a foreign‑body nidus or conduit for microbial colonization and biofilm formation leading to inflammation, purulence, delayed healing or spread.
