Surface Reflectance

The fraction of incident radiant energy that a surface redirects as reflected light, described as a function of wavelength and outgoing direction (commonly quantified by spectral reflectance or by a bidirectional reflectance distribution function); it is an intrinsic material property that, together with illumination, determines observed color and brightness.
