An extraction and concentration technique that uses carbon dioxide at conditions above its critical temperature and pressure so it behaves as a supercritical fluid with solvent properties to selectively dissolve and recover primarily lipophilic compounds while operating at relatively low temperatures compared with thermal drying or distillation.
