Soil Solarization

A non-chemical soil disinfestation method that covers moist soil with transparent (usually clear) plastic film to trap solar radiation, raise near‑surface soil temperatures for an extended period, and thereby reduce populations or viability of soil-borne pests, pathogens and weed seeds within the solarized zone.
