Simplicial Approximation

A technique in algebraic and geometric topology that replaces continuous maps between triangulable spaces by simplicial (piecewise-linear on simplices) maps defined on suitably refined triangulations, allowing combinatorial study of homotopy, degree, and other topological invariants.
