Seam Unraveling

The progressive loss of stitch continuity along a seam that begins at a termination point, damage site, or insecure stitch and propagates sequentially, resulting in a lengthening open seam when stitch retention mechanisms (locking, backstitch, overlock, or fused termination) fail to arrest stitch release.
