Resource Mobilization Theory

A theory of social movements that explains the emergence, growth, and outcomes of collective action primarily by reference to the availability, organization, and strategic deployment of material and nonmaterial resources (money, networks, labor, skills, media access), treating grievances as insufficient without mobilizable resources and organizational capacity.
