Regional Nerve Block

A technique that produces temporary loss of sensation in a defined anatomical region by depositing a local anaesthetic agent adjacent to a specific peripheral nerve or nerve plexus so that nerve impulse conduction is reversibly blocked for analgesia or to permit surgery or painful procedures.
