Rankine's Earth Pressure Theory

A closed-form limit equilibrium theory that gives expressions for lateral earth pressure coefficients for active and passive states for a cohesionless, homogeneous backfill with planar failure surfaces and no wall–soil friction; the active coefficient Ka and passive coefficient Kp depend on the soil internal friction angle and wall/backfill inclinations under those assumptions.
