Pulse Oximeter

A noninvasive monitoring device that estimates arterial oxygen saturation (displayed as SpO2) and pulse rate by measuring differential absorption of red and infrared light through perfused peripheral tissue and deriving a photoplethysmographic waveform; it provides continuous trend information but does not directly measure arterial oxygen partial pressure (PaO2) or hemoglobin concentration.
