Post-Processual Archaeology

A pluralist critique of processual archaeology that treats archaeological interpretation as context-dependent, reflexive, and meaning-centred: it foregrounds human agency, symbolic systems, identity, power relations and multiple plausible readings of material culture rather than treating cultural change as primarily governed by universal, law‑like processes.
