The measured amount of phosphate (commonly reported as extractable phosphorus or phosphate ion concentration per unit mass/volume of soil or sediment) used in archaeological and geoarchaeological studies as an indicator of past organic waste accumulation, manure, food processing, or bone deposition in the sampled area.
