Package Integrity Loss

A compromise of a food package's physical condition (seal failure, puncture, tears, deformation, barrier degradation or excessive permeation) that permits ingress or egress of contaminants, gases, or moisture and thereby changes the product's exposure to agents that affect safety or shelf life.
