Open Sandwich Technique

A restorative approach in which a glass ionomer (conventional or resin‑modified) is placed at a cervical or proximal margin beneath an overlying resin restoration so the ionomer contacts dentin or cementum at the margin while the resin provides occlusal contour and surface esthetics.
