Occlusal Overload

Concentration of excessive occlusal forces on a tooth, restoration, or implant—by magnitude, direction, duration or frequency—that exceeds the adaptive capacity of the supporting hard or soft tissues or restorative materials and produces structural damage, accelerated wear, mobility, or progressive bone loss.
