Normalization Process Theory

An implementation theory that explains how new practices, technologies, or interventions become routinely embedded (normalized) in social contexts through collective and individual work characterized by four generative mechanisms: coherence (sense-making), cognitive participation (engagement), collective action (operational work), and reflexive monitoring (appraisal).
