Live Area

Humanities & Arts Dictionary
The interior region of a layout, set inward from the trim line, within which all critical text and important imagery are placed to avoid being lost, obscured, or too close to the finished edge after trimming or during display. The live area defines a safety margin, not a design boundary for aesthetic elements.
