Definition
Analytical technique in which liquid chromatography (LC) separates nonvolatile or thermally labile compounds in a liquid mobile phase and those temporally resolved fractions are introduced to a mass spectrometer for ionization and mass analysis; commonly used for polar, mid‑ to high‑polarity small molecules and many metabolites in food matrices, often employing electrospray or atmospheric pressure
