A methodological framework that examines human activity through spatial patterns, environmental modification and the relationships between settlements, agricultural systems, circulation routes and natural features by integrating field survey, remote sensing, paleoenvironmental data, GIS and contextual material evidence to infer social, economic and ecological processes over time.
