Kjeldahl Nitrogen Determination

A wet‑chemical method that determines total nitrogen in a sample by acid digestion converting organic nitrogen to ammonium, followed by neutralization, steam‑distillation of liberated ammonia and quantitation (commonly by titration); results are often converted to crude protein using an application‑dependent nitrogen‑to‑protein conversion factor.
