Intersectionality

An analytical framework for understanding how multiple, overlapping social categories and structures (such as race, gender, class, sexuality, disability, and others) interlock to produce distinct patterns of advantage, disadvantage and experience; it treats these axes as mutually constitutive rather than separable, additive factors.
