Guided Tissue Regeneration

Health & Life Sciences Dictionary
Definition
A periodontal or peri-implant surgical technique that employs a barrier membrane to prevent rapid ingrowth of epithelial and gingival connective tissue into an attachment or osseous defect, thereby permitting slower‑migrating periodontal ligament and alveolar bone cells to repopulate the root or implant surface and re-establish functional connective tissue attachment and supporting bone.
