Furcation Involvement

Loss of alveolar bone and periodontal attachment in the anatomical area between the roots of a multirooted tooth (the furcation) that creates a pathologic communication from the root trunk into a periodontal pocket or the oral environment, impairing access for hygiene and changing prognosis and treatment options.
